Personal income estimates for South Africa, 2011 – 2015 by C.J. van Aardt and M.C. Coetzee (2015)

This report presents an estimate of the magnitude and distribution of personal income in South Africa for 2015, as well as a revision of personal income estimates for the period 2011 to 2015.  This research is based on an analysis of relevant local and international developments that affect South African consumers’ personal income and impact on their overall financial position, which have been incorporated in a macroeconomic econometric forecasting model.  Results display total personal and cash flow income estimates in population and monetary terms at a national level by income group, main source of income, gender, employment status, age group, province and educational status.
